  • Working Principle

    The belt feeder is a feeding device developed to meet the demands of modern high-speed operations in applications such as under-bin feeding and underground coal bunkers.

    Operating Principle

    Material in the hopper enters the guide chute via the connecting section and falls onto the wire mesh conveyor belt. When the belt is stationary, the material comes to a stop due to internal friction, forming a static pile at the discharge outlet at a certain angle. Once the drive drum begins to rotate under external power, it sets the belt in motion; the moving belt carries the material toward the discharge outlet. After discharging at the outlet, the belt turns around for the return stroke, continuously conveying material out of the discharge opening and thereby completing the feeding process. A secondary sealing device provides a seal against any material that leaks through the gap between the guide chute and the belt. To adjust the feed rate, the speed of the output shaft can be varied by turning the speed-adjustment handwheel of the planetary friction-type stepless gearbox on the swing arm, thus changing the belt’s running speed and, consequently, the feed rate. Alternatively, a variable-frequency drive can be optionally installed to adjust the motor speed and thereby control the feed rate. During operation, the belt feeder’s primary load is supported by rolling bearings, resulting in low running resistance, reduced drive power requirements, and extended service life for all system components.

    (8) This model boasts excellent versatility and can be integrated with K-type reciprocating coal feeders and vibratory belt feeders. The system comprises a hopper interface, a material-guiding chute, a manual gate assembly, a drive drum assembly, a roller support assembly, a base frame, and a cleaning device, among other components. All components are bolted together for easy handling and assembly, allowing for both modular and integral configurations, and are suitable for both surface and underground applications.

    (9) This equipment supports remote control, enabling automated production for the mining operation.
